Getting somewhere!

So after roughing out some more drawings I still wasn't pleased with the results. I went to class yesterday and got inspired with one of my drawings. It's kind of funny because I think it was the worst of them all!

So I started redrawing the picture of the Cannabis plant growing from a pot with money falling from it. And there is a government employee raking up all the money that has fallen. The pot read NON PROFIT LOCAL DISPENSARY, and the money falling from the tree represents the tax the government is imposing on the Medical Cannabis. After looking at it for a while I thought to myself "would anyone get that this is a government employee?" My next question was "what could portray the government that everyone could understand?" Then it clicked the Democrat Donkey and the Republican Elephant. The Elephant is raking the money and the Donkey is bagging them. Below are my sketches:

So it took me a while but I got some more roughs for this Medical Marijuana Editorial. I'm also going to attach some inspiration that I got for some of these.

Medical Marijuana is the winner!

So after trying to produce rough sketches for the three editorials I chose medical marijuana. I am at a road block with only five roughs and I need twelve. Hopefully I can get inspired for some more ideas. Here they are:

Kind of self explanatory.

It's supposed to be a jail cell.

The joint is rolled in a 5 dollar bill.

It's supposed to resemble a Marlboro cigarette pack.

It's a Cannabis dispenser/ Coke machine.

Editorial Illustration

So our assignment was to pick three editorials. Then out of the three choose one to make an illustration for it. These are the three I chose:

I think I'm going to do the plastic bag ban but I'll do some roughs to see which one is best.
